Since 1961 Eastern European Mission (EEM) has been providing
God’s Word to the people of Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe in
their own languages. For many years ways had to be found to get the
Bibles through an Iron Curtain, but God brought the Wall down.
Now EEM is providing Bibles and Biblical literature in 20 languages
to all the nations of the former Soviet Union. These materials are
provided to individuals, mission churches, campaign groups, and
other organizations related to the Church that teach God’s Word in
former communist nations. EEM also provides hundreds of thousands
of Bibles and Biblical literature to Russian families, children in
youth camps, Russian public schools – whole states at a time, and
many orphanages in Russia and Ukraine. All free to the recipients. As
a veteran in the field, EEM knows the territory. As socio-political
governments and dynamics in Russia, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe
have changed, so have EEM’s opportunities for reaching people. With
the demise of communism and new found freedoms for the people,
EEM has been able to gain easier access and is developing new
materials and programs to meet the changing needs of people in the
former Soviet Union.
