Christian Association “Love, Education, Maturity” has been working with children near the southern Polish border, for over 20 years. The Association organized a community event to celebrate Christmas. All children in the village, regardless of their religious background, had been invited and nearly 30 of them eagerly attended the meeting. An interesting fact: due to renovation of the village civic center, where we usually meet, the event took place in the former building of the Polish Border Guard. Thus, in the very place where over 25 years ago we had to smuggle Christian literature into Poland, we sang Christmas carols and preached the Word of God! At the end of the meeting, each child received a copy of the “Bible for Young Readers” from EEM and was encouraged to read it.
Some of them got started right away. As I took two of the kids home in my car, I heard their voices from the back seat. The eight-year-old David and Gabrielle were taking turns reading aloud from the Bible about the creation of the world. They were so enthralled by the book that they didn’t even notice me taking the picture. When I dropped them off, they made plans to meet in the afternoon and continue reading together.
I hope that all the other kids were just as eager to read God’s Word. I could tell that many of them were really happy to have their own Bible!
A similar meeting took place in the city of Cieszyn, in a private apartment with a smaller group of 7 kids, who are a part of a Christian book club. Several of them had attended the summer camp organized by our association and now are brining their friends with them.
Many greetings and I wish you many blessings from God as you continue with your mission,
