When Paul journeyed to Greece to proclaim the Good News of Jesus, he observed people who were starved to know a higher spiritual power. As the apostle walked around the city of Athens, he saw thousands of idols being worshiped. Each idol provided an insight into the Greeks’ capacity for wanting to know God and a desire to worship something beyond man.
As he continued on his journey through Greece, he preached and “they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. As a result, many of them believed, as also did many prominent Greek women and many Greek men.” Acts 17:11
Greece is more than just a place we hear about when we open up our Bibles. Even today their search for God and hunger for a higher power continues. Greece has a desperate need for the Bread of life – The Good News of Jesus Christ.
Ironically, even though the New Testament was written in the ancient Koine Greek language, they do not have easy access to God’s Word in the modern Greek language. EEM is dedicated to sowing the Word of God across Greece trusting in our God who promises a harvest. To meet their requests, EEM plans to print and distribute 20,000 modern Greek language Bibles free of charge.
EEM works closely with churches and ministries who diligently strive to get the Bible back into the hands of the people of Greece. When you financially partner with EEM, you are actively playing a role in the mission of God to bring the Good News to this country, just as Paul did on his missionary journey. Be a part of sending God’s Word to awaken and draw God’s people back to Him.
During this holiday season, please prayerfully consider donating to reach a goal of 20,000 Greek Bibles. Partner with us by giving online at milliondollarsunday.org/donate.
